SEE DETAILS BELOW Aunt Ruth’s “QSC Expo” Art Quilt Challenge Aunt Ruth’s Quilt Shop challenges you to submit an art quilt to be displayed at the “Quilting, Stitches & Crafts Expo” at the Sharonville Convention Center that takes place September 9-11, 2010. 1. The theme for this challenge is “Aisle 6 of Your Local Supermarket.” You must use an item in your quilt that you find in aisle 6 of your supermarket. How you use that item and the type of quilt you make is only limited by your imagination! 2. You’ll receive a kit that contains fabrics and embellishments that must also be used in your quilt top. You must use at least 1 square inch of each fabric, including the cork, and all of the embellishments. The cost of the kit is $5.00. 3. You can add as many other fabrics and embellishments as you like. These could include decorative thread, fabric paint, buttons, beads, paper, metal, natural materials or anything else you want to work with. 4. The finished piece should measure approximately 18” x 20” and it must have a hanging sleeve on the back. 5. A label must be included on the back of the piece with your name and telephone number and any other information you want to include. 6. The following information must also be included with your submission: Your name, telephone number, name of your quilt, the name (or description) of the item you used from Aisle 6 of your supermarket, and a short explanation of why you chose that item and how you used it in your quilt. 7. Deadline to submit your finished quilt to Aunt Ruth’s Quilt Shop is SEPT 9TH. A $100 gift basket from Aunt Ruth’s will be awarded to the person who gets the most votes during the QSC Expo. |
